In the context of the “Homage Year dedicated to the Romanian Village in the Romanian Patriarchate”, the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Northern Europe organizes a series of scientific, cultural and artistic events in the Swedish cities of Stockholm and Jönköping, on October 3-5.
The events begin on Thursday, October 3, starting at 6 pm, at ICR Stockholm headquarters, with the exhibition “The Face of the Romanian Village”, an approach that brings together the works of 14 passionate photographers from the Romanian traditions and values found in the rural areas of our country. The event is organized by the Romanian Orthodox Bishopric of Northern Europe and ICR Stockholm, in partnership with the news agency Basilica and the Embassy of Romania in the Kingdom of Sweden.
The exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday between October 3 and December 13, 2019.
Further, on Friday, October 4, you are expected in the church of the Romanian Orthodox Parish in Jönköping (address: Ceciliavägen 20, 553 10 Jönköping), where, starting at 6:00 pm, the work of the International Symposium “Orthodox Church and the Treasures of the Romanian Village: Faith, Language, Traditions” will take place.
Saturday, October 5, will begin, in the parish church, with the Holy Liturgy with hierarchs on the occasion of the parish’s Patron Feast. The service will be officiated, starting at 10.00. In the afternoon, from 3.30 pm, in the City Library hall (address: Dag Hammarskjölds plats 1, 553 22 Jönköping), you will have the opportunity to take part in an artistic program presented by young people from the community and by the Grigore Leșe, master of the Romanian traditional music.
